Cracker Barrel Flip Flop

I have heard some grumbling from a lot of folks like Mike Huckabee who said, “Cracker Barrel has decided it wanted to be the first big corporate sponsor to distance itself from Phil Robertson and in doing so, it has decided it doesn’t want ‘his kind,’ in their stores,” Huckabee said on Facebook. “Well, I’m ‘his kind,’ so they won’t be seeing me at their tables in the future.”  And my Facebook friend Evin Mckinley Marsh "because I " believe " that they were ballsy enough to jump on a band wagon and pull the products but when it started to hurt them they said hey, maybe we screwed up because like you said the " ppl " spoke up and voiced their opinion so they put them back on display. I think if they wanted to support them and sell the product they shouldve [sic] stood by them the whole time and not when it hurt their own pocket book or threatened to."

I do not condemn the attitude, in fact it mirrors my own at first.  Then it came back to my mind how Cracker Barrel has been or the receiving end of a relentless attack by homosexual activists.  Just Google "how many times has Cracker Barrel has been sued by gays" and you will get over a hundred thousand hits.  Click Here To See.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — A man has filed a discrimination lawsuit against Cracker Barrel Old Country Store in federal court, saying that he was discriminated against because he is gay link

ATLANTA — A country restaurant chain that fired several employees because they were homosexual, then apparently backed off the policy, has set off a struggle with gay rights activists who Wednesday contended the "institutionalized bigotry" was being quietly continued.  link

And then this, “Batten down the hatches Grandma and get ready for another evangelical tornado. The Board of Directors of Cracker Barrel recently voted to add sexual orientation to the company's written non-discrimination policy and some on the Religious right are fuming.  Cracker Barrel has been a tough nut to crack for gay rights activists. "This small step has enormous significance for every gay or lesbian employee who has ever experienced job discrimination," said Human Rights Campaign Education Director Kim I. Mills, who oversees the organization's workplace advocacy project, HRC WorkNet. "Cracker Barrel has undergone important cultural changes in the last 10 years, but until now has resisted rewriting its non-discrimination policy. This long-awaited change is a watershed and we welcome it."   link

They even tough graduate level course on how to bring Cracker Barrel to its knees:

Identifying the Business Problem

"Cracker Barrel has a socially conservative management.  For much of its history and growth, its customer base has been similarly conservative.  Cracker Barrel made the choice to give up some skilled workers’ talents by firing gay and lesbian employees because of their sexual orientation. The company at least partially backed away from this position because of public pressure, but not to the satisfaction of various interest groups.  As a publicly traded company, the reactions of the financial markets are important to Cracker Barrel’s management and a number of large stockholders put pressure on the company to further modify its policies.  In addition, as it has grown, Cracker Barrel has expanded into geographic areas with more liberal populations and local and state laws that protect workers against discrimination because of their sexual orientation.  Thus, management preferences potentially conflict with the interests of various other stakeholders."  link

So is it not without reason that they made the decision to pull the Duck Dynasty merchandise from it shelves, “once burnt, twice shy” as the saying goes, and they have been burned over and over again by the likes of GLLAD and LGBT.  They have never been shown much support in the past while being ravaged by the relentless campaign to make them accept being queer as a normal lifestyle, and be used as a target to show other company the grief that they will get if they do not bow to their wishes.

I believe that they are glad that they happy and relieved to get all of the complaints that they received about removing the  Duck Dynasty merchandise, and were truly releved at their customer’s response and that it was with a glad heart that they wrote this letter:

Dear Cracker Barrel Customer:
When we made the decision to remove and evaluate certain Duck Dynasty items, we offended many of our loyal customers. Our intent was to avoid offending, but that’s just what we've done.
You told us we made a mistake. And, you weren't shy about it. You wrote, you called and you took to social media to express your thoughts and feelings. You flat out told us we were wrong.

We listened.

Today, we are putting all our Duck Dynasty products back in our stores.
And, we apologize for offending you. We respect all individuals right to express their beliefs. We certainly did not mean to have anyone think different. We sincerely hope you will continue to be part of our Cracker Barrel family.

Now as to why A&E, which is owned by the Disney  Corporation, did this with Phill, take him into be interviewed, with one of their agent presents during the interview, knowing the type of question he would be asked and how he would respond,I do not know but I have my suspicions.  I believe that the reason A&E did this was to show to the world that they stood firmly behind the likes of GLLAD and the LGBTs.  By setting him up to be fired because of the sure complaints of that GLLAD would make they could show their solidarity with the queers of the world which they are working hard to present as the normals to the world and the Duck people as the redneck weirdos unenlighend bigots.

Here, they were saying, which side do you want to be on?  And have been shocked by the answer.
