Listening to
Morning Joe as I write this and they are bitching that it should not be so that
congress cannot raise the minimum wage, one of the talking heads said
(paraphrasing), "It is a shame that the American Dream that your children
can do better that yourself is dead because Congress refuses to raise the
minimum wage..." This is absolute cat trap!
The American
Dream of expecting your children to do better than you did has never depended
upon on the government telling people how much they had to pay someone to do a
job. What that dream rested upon, predicated if you will, is the fact that our
children would have the chance to go out and on their own merit make more of
themselves that we were able to by taking advantage opportunities of living in
in a free society where your background was and is not a predictor of how well
you will do in life.
