Looking for Love

I guess she be on her way, a way to another day.
Bed lies before her, a long hard day behind her.
She just broke up with me, left me.
Left me behind, like a bad day.
Not another word, not even goodbye.
She just stopped calling, stopped coming over.
No explanation, no story, no goodbye.
No “so long, so nice to know you,”
No “its not your fault, it just me,”
No “you rotten, selfish, rotten sun-of-a-bitch”!
Leaving me to wonder what went wrong.
Now, less and less she comes to mind
As I lay my head down at the end of the day.
But still sometimes I wonder, it seemed all good,
Spending time and doing things,
But obviously there were things I missed.
I fear in my mind it was no commitment
No commitment for a future together
That led her to leave my bed.
But to leave with no word
Not even a sigh of regret
Or one of relief
Leaves me to wonder, what went wrong.
Ah, being in love with love
Makes for a hard road to walk
For love is ideal
And relations are real.
Infatuation!
Now that is a burning reality!
A hot burning fire
That consumes every though.
But as the fire roars down
To its ember, infatuation ends.
And if love is not born
Then the relationship dies.
Cold and dreary are
The dead desires
Of a burnt out
Relationship
Leaving the jilted lover
An empty husk
A form with no depths,
Filled only with memories,
Memories that lighted the fires.
The burning fires of desires
Desires to find true love
Loving the ideal love.
