The Sand & Carbon Age

Oh, when the times does come
It will come right on time.
Fretting and worrying
Will bring it not one second latter.
~
If it was born, it will die.
If it has a beginning
It will end
Fin
~
Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle
You can know position or momentum
But not both at the same time
Which makes prediction
~
A matter of chance.
What will be will be,
But you cannot
Know.
~
I can know what you did,
But I cannot know why.
Even if you tell me,
You might lie.
~
Actions speak louder
Then words
In a world filled
With uncertainties.
~
Carbon, coal and oil
Fired the Industrial Revolution
Set the wheels to spinning.
First by steam then by electrons.
~
The weather set in its range,
Record on either end.
Hottest day ever,
Coldest winter in a hundred years.
~
This is a pattern that began,
This is a pattern that will end.
Nothing can stay the same,
It is guaranteed to change.
~
For better or for worse
That which is
Will become was
In the flow of days.
~
The climate, they now claim,
Because of our carbon
The weather has changed
And getting warmer ans warmer.
~
Duration defines time,
How long it can last
Before it changes.
The tick before the tock.
~
Events endure
Some longer then others.
A day, a year
Each the duration of an event.
~
The spin of the earth,
Its journey around the sun.
The how is know,
The why is uncertain.
~
How long the duration
Can only be know
When it comes
To its end.
~
A thousand tick just like the tocks,
Well, no, not exactly.
That is why we had to find
A better clock.
~
Our technological age
Was born of the clock,
A fast ticking clock
That times in the nano and piko.
~
The counters of its frequencies
Synchronizes and directs the
Manipulation and storage
Of information.
~
More and more
Of our being is
Stored in silicon and plastic.
In this age of sand and carbon.
~
Information on
How, when, where, and who
All stored in or by machines
Who hearts are clocks.
~
Clocks start, and clocks stop
But they run our cars, even ovens.
Just one EMP
Electro Magnetic Pulse,
~
And they have Alzheimer!
Forget all they ever knew,
No more tick tock.
They just stop.
~
So, do you want to worry about the weather?
The earth’s magnetic pole reversal?
One takes us to an ice age,
The other to the Middle Ages
~
Or do you want to live till you die,
And do the best you can?
Taking each day in turn,
And doing as good as you can?
~
Decide right from wrong
Walk a path of righteousness
Face the unknown
And go into the unperceived.
